This section contains information on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) environmental agreements and commitments. It also includes ASEAN working groups, and selected networks and experts groups concerned with the environment and natural resources (ENR). Moreover, recent declarations and statements on ENR concerns made during ASEAN meetings with selected information from each are listed. The BIMP-EAGA, a subregional economic cooperation initiative with an environment component, is also included here.

Background
The Philippines is a founding member of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) was established in 1967 and is composed of ten Member States: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

The ASEAN Community has three pillars, namely the ASEAN Political-Security Community, ASEAN Economic Community and ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community. DENR is involved in the Economic Community through the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Agriculture and Forestry (AMAF) and the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Minerals (AMMin) and in the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community through the ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on the Environment (AMME).
